King Salmon, Becharof, and Big Empty Country

The area around King Salmon is the kind of Alaska country hunters remember. Open tundra, river systems, brush, weather, water, and long distances all shape the hunt.

There is no road access into this country, and that changes the entire experience. Weather can hold you up. Travel can shift. Plans may need to change. But that remoteness is also what makes the area special.

Taylor Made Guide Service operates under federal concession BCH OH-1 in Becharof National Wildlife Refuge, hunting out of King Salmon. This is a sole guide use area, meaning Jared Taylor is the only guide permitted to guide hunters in this specific area.

What to Expect

  • Remote Alaska hunting areas

A Sole Guide Use Area

A good hunt starts with trust. Taylor Made Guide Service keeps things straightforward: talk through the hunt, understand the hunter’s goals, prepare honestly, and then hunt hard when it is time to go.

This guide service is a good fit for hunters who understand that hunting is about more than killing an animal. There are a lot of parts to a successful hunt: preparation, patience, weather, travel, camp life, reading the country, respecting the animal, and enjoying where you are.

We hunt with respect for the land, the wildlife, and the refuge. Taylor Made Guide Service follows a low-impact approach in the field, gives non-target wildlife the right of way, and works to leave the country as clean and wild as we found it.
